John Rudolphus Booth

 

 

Booth, John Rudolphus (1827 - 1925), capitalist, was born in Shefford county, Quebec, in 1826. In 1857 he built a small lumber-mill at Ottawa ; and he developed this into an enormous industry. In 1905 the Grand Trunk Railway acquired 500 miles of railway which he had built as an adjunct of his business. He died at Ottawa on December 8, 1925.
