John Redpath Dougall
Journalist, of John Dougall & Son, Publishers of Montreal Witness, Northern Messenger and World Wide, 222 Craig St. W., Montreal. Born Montreal, 1841; son of John Dougall and Elizabeth, eldest daughter of John Redpath. Educated: Montreal High School ; McGill University. "A Journalist, who for many years as Editor of the Montreal Witness, has used his beneficent influence for the welfare of Canada ; a Writer, whose fairness and courtesy have added dignity to the journalistic profession." In these terms, Mr. Dougall, McGill's oldest living graduate, was presented at Convocation in 1921, for the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Laws. Recreations: Sketching and chopping. Club: Congregational. Residence: 618 Belmont Ave., Westmount, Que.
