John Macfarlane
Macfarlane, John (1857-1914), poet, was born at Abington, Lanarkshire, Scotland, in May, 1857. He came to Canada about 1890, and settled in Montreal, where he became a journalist. He died in Montreal on September 7, 1914. He edited an anthology entitled The harp of the Scottish covenant (London, 1895), and he was the author of Heather and harebell (Montreal, 1892) and Songs of the thistle and male (Toronto, 1913).
