Jacques Raudot
Raudot, Jacques (1647-1728), intendant of New France (1705-11), was born in 1647, the son of jean Raudot, seignior of Bazarne and Coudray, and Marguerite Talon. In 1674 he was councillor in the parlement of Metz, and on May 26, 1678, he became councillor at the Cour des Aides, Paris. On January 1, 1705, he was made intendant of New France , and this post he held until 1711, devoting himself to the welfare of the colony. He returned to France and was appointed councillor of marine. He died in 1728. See R. Roy, Les intendants de la Nouvelle France (Trans. Roy . Soc.
