Jacques Giasson

 

Giasson, Jacques (1747-1808), fur-trader, was born in Montreal in 1747, the son of Jacques Giasson and Marie Angélique Hubert. Following his father, who had been a fur-trader at Green Bay in the French period, he was engaged all his life in the south-west trade. He was elected a member of the Beaver Club of Montreal in 1791; and he died at Montreal on January 30, 1808.
