Incumbent of L'Eglise du Rédempteur of Montreal. Born St. George of Windsor, Que., July 5, 1862, son of Henri Rémi Benoit and Amanda Armstrong (both deceased) (can trace ancestry for six generations back to France ). Educated: Public Schools and Private Tuition. Superintendent of Schools in French Congo, 1886-88; Supt. of French Missions, New England Southern Conference, 1888-94; Financial Agent, Sabrevois Mission and College, 1895-1900; Principal of Sabrevois College, 1905-1911; present charge since 1901. Chaplain of Montreal Fire Brigade. Author of L'Eglise Anglicane Avant la Reforme ; The Ministry of the Christian Church and numerous pamphlets and manuals of Controversy. Writer also of a number of Hymns in the Collection Chants Evangéliques . Married Annie Rowse (United Empire Loyalist ancestry), June 14, 1888; has one son and four daughters. Societies: A.F. & A.M.; I.O.O.F.; Orange and Black Knights of the Empire. Recreation: Gardening. Independent. Nominee of the Prohibition Party for 5th District, State of Rhode Island , U.S., 1894. Residence: 975 Sherbrooke Street E., Montreal.
