Hamilton Cassels
Cassels, Hamilton (1854-1925), lawyer, was born in Quebec on April 2, 1854, the seventh son of Robert Cassels. He was educated at Morrin College and at McGill University (B.A., 1873), and was called to the bar in 1877 (K.C., 1902). He was keenly interested in welfare work, was president of the Penny Bank in 1905, was chairman of the Ontario Parole Board for several years, and for many years was interested in the Prisoners' Aid Association.
