Lieut.-Col. George Stephen Cantlie, D.S.O.
Born Montreal, son of James Alexander Cantlie and Eleanora Simpson Stephen. Educated: Montreal High School; McGill University. Joined the Royal Highlanders of Canada in 1885. Appointed to rank of Lieut.-Colonel in 1906. Served in the Great War in command of 42nd Battn., C.E.F. Mentioned in despatches, and awarded D.S.O., in 1916. Married Beatrice Mary Campbell (deceased), 1896; has one son and four daughters. Clubs: Mount Royal; St. James's; Forest and Stream; Mount Bruno Country; Royal Montreal Golf; Montreal Hunt. Society: St. Andrew's Society. Presbyterian. Residence: 502 Sherbrooke Street W., Montreal.
