George Greene Foster

Foster, George Greene (1860-1931), senator of Canada, was born at Knowlton, Quebec, on January 21, 1860, the son of Samuel E. Foster aid Ellen Green. He was educated at Knowlton Academy and McGill University, and was called to the Quebec bar in 1881 (Q.C., .1896). He was called to the Senate of Canada in 1917; and he died at Montreal on May 1, 1931. In 1896, he married Mary Maud, daughter of the Hon. G. C. V. Buchanan.

Admitted to Quebec Bar, 1881; created K.C., 1896; ex-President, Eastern Townships Conservative Association; called to Senate of Canada for Alma Division, July, 1917. Married Mary Maud Buchanan, daughter of the late Hon. G. C. V. Buchanan, Jan. 1, 1896. Clubs: Mount Royal, Montreal Hunt, Montreal Club (Montreal); Rideau, Country (Ottawa); St. George's (Sherbrooke). Conservative. Anglican. Residence: 8 Edgehill Ave., Montreal, and Blarney Castle, Knowlton, Que.
