DUNCAN , Rev. George, M.A., B.D., D.D. - Clergyman, The Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul , Montreal . Born Charlottetown, P.E.I., April 23, 1870, son of Rev. Thomas Duncan, D.D., Bridge of Weir , Scotland, and Mary A. Hyndman. Educated: Daniel Stewart's College, Edinburgh; High School, Glasgow; University of Glasgow (M.A. with distinction in Classics; B.D., with Fellowship in Theology); University of Jena, Germany; D.D., Queen's University and Montreal Theological College. Asst. Professor in Divinity and Church History, Glasgow University; Incumbent of the Parishes of Glendevon, Glencairn, Inveresk, and St. Cuthbert's, Edinburgh; St. Andrew's, Church of Scotland, Montreal, 1914; Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul, Montreal, 1918. Member of Corporation of McGill University ; Governor of Co-operating Theological Colleges, Montreal ; President of Trafalgar School . Author of The Essenes ; Modern Theories of the Resurrection ; Echoes and Vision ; Patriotism and Religion ; The University and Religion ; Christianity and the Church ; Christianity and Heroism ; The Influence of German Thought on Modern Theology ; The Teaching Profession as an Ethical Force in National Life ; World Peace and Industrial Unrest ; Scotland and the Scot, etc. Chaplain, 6th Royal Scots, Midlothian , Scotland ; Chaplain, Royal Highlanders of Canada, Montreal, with rank of Captain. Presented at the Court of King George V., 1911. Married Louise, daughter of R. Hunt-White, Edinburgh, 1914. Clubs: University (Edinburgh); Royal Colonial ( London ); University ( Montreal ); United Services Club ( Montreal ); Chaplain of Royal Caledonian Curling Club of Canada ; Chaplain, Montreal Curling Club.
