George Archibald Campbell, K.C.
CAMPBELL, George Archibald, K.C., B.A., B.C.L. - Advocate, of Campbell, McMaster and Couture, Advocates, Canada Life Bldg., Montreal. Born Montreal, Sept. 26, 1875, son of Rev. Robt. Campbell, D.D., (An Ex-Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, and upwards of fifty years one of the foremost members of that church), and Margaret (Macdonnell) Campbell. Educated: Montreal High School; McGill Universit; (B.A., 1896, taking first rank honors in Arts Faculty; first rank honors in Law Faculty) (B.C.L., 1901). Received Macdonald Travelling Scholarship in Law. Travelled one year in France, attending lectures in Universities of Grenoble, Montpelier and Paris. Read law with the late Sir Donald MacMaster, Baronet, K.C., M.P. Called to the Bar 1901; Created K.C. by Sir Francis Langelier, Lt.-Governor of Quebec, May, 1912. Counsel to many leading firms of railway contractors and transportation companies for whom he has been engaged in much important litigation. Married Amy G. Dawson, daughter of William V. Dawson, Jan., 1909; has one son. Clubs and Societies: Mount Royal; Montreal; University; Beaconsfield Golf; Hermitage Country; Liberal-Conservative; Canadian; St. Andrew's Art Association. Recreations: Golf, farming, motoring. Conservative. Presbyterian. Residence: 136 Cedar Ave., Montreal.
