Fort St. Jean
Fort St. Jean, a French fort built in 1748 on the Richelieu river, Quebec, where the town of St. Johns now stands. It was surrendered to the Americans, after a spirited defence, in 1775; but was evacuated by them when they retired from Canada in 1776. Source : W.
