Fort Coulonge, a village in Pontiac county, Quebec, at the junction of the Ottawa and Coulonge rivers, and on the Canadian Pacific Railway, 80 miles north-west of Hull. The name is derived from that of a fur-trading post built here by Louis d'Ailleboust, Sieur de Coulonge, about 1680, and subsequently operated by the North West and Hudson's Bay Companies.
