Fort Augustus
Fort Augustus, a post of the North West Company built in 1794 on the north bank of the Saskatchewan river, about 20 miles east of the present city of Edmonton. It was sometimes called Upper Fort des Prairies. In 1807 it was destroyed by the Blackfeet; and in 1808 it was rebuilt on the site of the present city of Edmonton, but was again destroyed by the Blackfeet in 1810. Source : W.
