Félix Geoffrion
Geoffrion, Félix (1832-1894), notary public and politician, was born at Varennes , Quebec, on October 4, 1832, the son of Félix Geoffrion and Catherine Brodeur. From 1854 to 1863 he was registrar of Verchères. In 1863 he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Canada as member for Verchères; in 1867 he was elected to the Canadian House of Commons for the same constituency, and he continued to be reelected at every general election until his death. On July 8, 1874, he was sworn of the privy council as minister of inland. revenue in the Mackenzie administration; but in December, 1876, ill-health compelled the resignation of his portfolio. He died at Quebec on August 7, 1894 . In October, 1856, he married Almaide, youngest daughter of Lieut.Colonel Joseph Dansereau of Verchères. Source : W.
