Father PointSte Anne de la Pointe au Père
Father Point, or Ste. Anne de la Pointe au Père, a village in Rimouski county, Quebec, on the south shore of the St. Lawrence river, five miles from Rimouski and three miles from St. Anaclet, on the Canadian National Railway. It is here that ocean liners navigating the St. Lawrence stop to take aboard or set ashore their pilots. The point is named after the Jesuit father, Henri Nouvel, who in 1663 celebrated the first mass in this locality. Source : W. Stewart WALLACE, ed., The Encyclopedia of Canada, Vol. II.
