Ebenezer Clemo
Clemo, Ebenezer (1831?-1860), novelist, was born in London, England, about 1831. He came to Canada in 1858, and employed himself in writing, for a Canadian publisher, two novels, The life and adventures of Simon Seek, by "Maple Knot" (Montreal, 1858), and Canadian homes, or the mystery solved (Montreal, 1858). He is said to have been the inventor also of making paper pulp from straw. He died at Morristown, New Jersey, in 1860.
