Ernest Doin
Doin, Ernest (1809-1891), dramatist, was born at Bourges, France, in 1809, and emigrated to the United States about 1840. A few years later he came to Lower Canada, and became a school teacher. He published, between 1871 and 1884 several farces, comedies, and other dramatic pieces. He died at Montreal on September 26, 1891. See E. Z. Massicotte, Ernest Doin (Bull. rech. hist., 1917).
