Rev. Daniel James Fraser, D.D.

FRASER, Daniel James, M.A., B.D., S.T.B., LL.D., D.D. - Presbyterian Minister and Principal of The Presbyterian College, Montreal, established, 1865, to train men for the ministry of the Presbyterian Church in Canada, and for other forms of Christian Service, 67 McTavish Street, Montreal. Born Alberton, P.E.I., Sept. 15, 1866, son of Rev. Allan Fraser, Minister of Alberton, P.E.I., and Anne Keir, daughter of Rev. John Keir, D.D., Malpeque, P.E.I. Educated: Alberton Grammar School and Prince of Wales College, Charlottetown; McGill University; The Presbyterian College, Montreal; Harvard University (B.A., McGill, 1890; M.A., McGill, 1893; B.D., Presbyterian College, Montreal, 1893; S.T.B., Harvard, 1897; LL.D., University of New Brunswick, 1900, and McGill, 1922; D.D., Knox College, Toronto, 1908). Came to Quebec, 1904. Minister of St. Andrew's Church, Wolfville, N.S., 1893-95; Minister of St. Stephen's Church, St. John, N.B., 1897-1904; Professor of New Testament Literature and Exegesis, the Presbyterian College, Montreal, 1904; Principal, 1916. Ordained to the Ministry, Aug. 31, 1893; inducted into present chair of Theology, Sept., 1904; installed as Principal, Oct., 1916. Author of many pamphlets and magazine articles on Ethical and Religious subjects. Clubs: University; Beaconsfield Golf; Montreal Thistle Curling; Harvard (Montreal) (First President, 1921); Harvard (New York). Society: A.F. & A.M. Recreations: Golf, curling. Presbyterian. Residence: 69 McTavish Street, Montreal.
