Colonel Arthur Édouard Dubuc

DUBUC, Colonel Arthur Edouard, D.S.O., L.H., M.E.I.C. - Superintending Engineer of Government Canals in the Province of Quebec, Department of Railways and Canals, Ottawa; Office, 201 Inspector Street, Montreal. Born Montreal, May 18, 1880, son of the late Arthur Dubuc and Angélina Racicot. Educated: Mont St. Louis College ; École Polytechnique (Université de Montréal), B.A.Sc. 1901-12, with the Dominion Government as Assistant Engineer, Department of Public Works, Ottawa ; 1912-14, District Engineer in Montreal; since 1919, Superintending Engineer of Dominion Quebec Canals, Department of Railways and Canals. In July, 1922, appointed a Member of Royal Commission to investigate Soldiers' Pensions and Re-establishment. In October, 1923, appointed Honorary A.D.C. to His Excellency the Governor General. Enlisted as Captain with 22nd Battalion in October, 1914; Major, May, 1915; 2nd in Command of Battalion in January, 1916; Acting Lieut.-Colonel in October, 1916; Lieut.-Colonel in August, 1918. Was at Kemmel, Ypres , Courcelette. Commanded 22nd Battalion in 1916 at Regina , in 1917 at Vimy Ridge, in 1918 at Neuville-Vitasse, Mercatel, Meharicourt, Arras to Cherisy. Wounded in action, 1915, 1916 and 1918. Awarded D.S.O., 1917; Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in 1917; Bar to D.S.O. in 1918; twice mentioned in despatches. In December, 1920, promoted Colonel in command of 11th Canadian Infantry Brigade. Clubs: Engineers'; Hermitage Country; Canadian; United Services; Cercle Universitaire; Laval-sur-le-lac. Societies: Member of Council, Engineering Institute of Canada; Member, Corporation des Ingénieurs Professionnels de Québec; Association des Anciens Élèves du Mont St. Louis; Association des Anciens élèves de l'Ecole Polytechnique; Professional Institute of Civil Service of Canada; G. W. V.A. Gouverneur à vie de l'Hôpital Notre-Dame. Recreations: Golf and boating. Independent. Roman Catholic. Residence: 58 Sherbrooke Street Montreal W., Montreal.
