Clément Arthur Dansereau
Dansereau, Clément Arthur (1844-1918), journalist, was born at Contrecoeur, Lower Canada, on July 5, 1844, the son of Clément Dansereau and Louise Fiset. He was educated at L'Assomption College and at McGill University (B.C.L., 1865). From 1863 to 1876 he was one of the editors of La Minerve, a Conservative newspaper of Montreal; and he then became editor of La Presse. From 1891 to 1899 he was postmaster of Montreal; and in 1899 he again became editor of La Presse, in support of the Laurier government. He died at Montreal on March 27, 1918. Source : W.
