Claude Thomas Dupuy

Dupuy, Claude Thomas (fl. 1700-1728), intendant of New France (1726-8), had been advocate in the Châtelet of Paris, advocate-general in the grand council, king's councillor, and "maitre des requêtes". He was named intendant of New France on November 23; 1725, and came to Canada with the Marquis de Beauharnois on August 28, 1726. During his period of office he was involved in constant quarrels with the governor and the bishop; and he was recalled in 1728, and sailed for France on October 1. He was married and had one son.
