CHARLES JOHN CICERI

 

President, The Charles Ciceri Co., Ltd., wholesale grocers, importers and specialists in Italian products, ship agents and brokers, stevedores and ship's chandlers, 84 St. Peter Street, Montreal. Born Wilmington , U.S., March 14, 1886, son of Chevalier John B. and Cesira (Faccioli) Ciceri. Educated: Wilmington and Toronto; classical studies in Italy. Honorary Vice-Consul of Italy for Canada. Commenced in his father's business in Toronto, 1903; came to Montreal in 1910 to establish present business, remaining two years; returned to Toronto, returning to Montreal again in 1918 to devote his whole time to the Montreal business. Member, Montreal Board of Trade; Member and President, Wholesale Grocers' Guild. Life Governor, Homoeopathic Hospital; Acting Italian Consul-General for Canada, Feb. to Aug., 1922. Received permanent appointment in June, 1922, as Hon. Vice-Consul of Italy for Canada. Married Ruth Mowry, daughter of Daniel C. Mowry, of Boston; has four sons and two daughters. Club: Kiwanis. Recreations: Motoring, reading, golf. Roman Catholic. Residence: 421 Lansdowne Ave., Montreal.
