Colonel Charles Auguste Chauveau, K.C.

CHAUVEAU, Col. Charles Auguste, M.A., LL.L., LL.D., K.C., - of Chauveau & Rivard, Advocates and Solicitors, 73 St. Pierre Street, Quebec. Born Oct. 28, 1877, son of Hon. A. Chauveau. Educated: Séminaire de Québec; Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. (B.A. with honours, 1896; M.A., 1896); Laval University (B.A., 1896; LL.L., 1899; LL.D., 1903). Called to the Quebec Bar, 1899; appointed K.C. by Quebec Government, Jan. 1, 1915. Entered Volunteer Militia as Lieutenant, 89th Regiment, 1897; attained command of Regiment with rank of Lieut.-Colonel, June 17, 1907. Director of National Service, 1916; appointed March 1, 1917, to the command of the 15th Infantry Brigade, Canadian Militia. Married Amélia Flynn, daughter of Hon. E. J. Flynn, K.C., May, 1902. Appointed to command V Artillery Brigade, Canadian Field Artillery, Sept., 1913; Hon. Lieut.-Col. 89th Regiment of Infantry, April, 1913; promoted Brevet Colonel, Sept., 1920, and Officer Commanding "Les Voltigeurs de Quebec," upon re-organization. Club: Garrison. Residence: 7 Place George V, Quebec.
