Ex-President, Canadian Amateur Athletic Union; President, Montreal Military Institute, 1906; 2nd Vice-President, Montreal Board of Trade; Director, National Breweries, Ltd.; President, Montreal Curling Club, 1921; Chairman of Executive, Canadian Artillery Assn., 1923. Hon. Colonel, 14th Royal Montreal Regiment; Colonel commanding 2nd Regt. Canadian Artillery; Served in Canadian Militia with Canadian Garrison Artillery, 1884-1886; Royal Scots of Canada, 1897-1905; Can. Field Artillery, 1905-1912; Can. Grenadier Guards, 1912-1914. Served in France in the great war; left Canada with first Canadian Division, Sept., 1914; appointed Lt.-Col. commanding 5th Brigade, Can. Field Artillery, Sept., 1915; appointed C.R.A., 4th Canadian Division, afterwards 5th Canadian Div. Artillery, temporary rank, Brigadier-General, Oct., 1916; Despatches, April, 1916; November, 1917; March, 1918; November, 1918; Order C.M.G., June, 1916; D.S.O., Jan. 1, 1919; Long Service Medal, 1914; Auxiliary Forces Long Service decoration, 1918; Companion, Society, American Wars, Oct., 1918.
