Very Reverend Arthur Carlisle
CARLISLE , Very Reverend Arthur, B.A., D.D. - Rector and Dean of Montreal. Born Southsea, Hants, England , Nov. 29, 1881, son of James Carlisle, R.N., and Mary Agnes (Stares) Carlisle. Educated: Public School, London, Ont.; Western University and Huron College, London, Ont.; (B.A., 1902, D.D. (Honoris Causa) 1922). Ordained Deacon, 1904; Priest, 1905; Asst., Memorial Church, London, 1904-07; Rector, Holy Trinity Church, Lucan, Ont., 1907-10; Rector, All Saints Church, Windsor, Ont., 1910-21; appointed Dean of Montreal and Rector, Christ Church Cathedral, Dec., 1921. Chaplain and Hon. Capt., 4th Infantry Bde., C.E.F., 1914-17; Chaplain and Hon. Capt., Canadian Grenadier Guards Battn., 1922. Married May Emery, Windsor , Ont., June 25, 1919 . Club: University, Montreal . Recreations: Tennis, golf. Church of England. Residence: Montreal.
