Antoine Sébastien Falardeau
Falardeau, Antoine Sébastien (1823-1889), painter, was born near Quebec, Lower Canada, in 1823. He went to Italy about 1844, and became a copyist in Florence . His work was in great demand, and he was created a chevalier by the Grand Duke of Tuscany. Very little of his work, however, was original. He died in Florence, Italy, on August 14, 1889. See Abbé H. R. Casgrain, Biographies canadiennes (Montreal, 1885), and E. de Rives, Le chevalier Falardeau (Quebec, 1862). Source : W.
